Marcello Schermer

Marcello’s passion lies in building platforms and projects that help entrepreneurs on the African continent grow and scale their businesses to new heights. He is currently in charge of expansion at Yoco, tasked with growing one of Africa’s leading Fintech startups to new markets on the African continent and beyond. Yoco’s vision is to help SMEs thrive and we currently help over 46.000 SMEs accept digital payments, manage their business through Software and grow through our capital offerings. In his previous role as Regional Manager for Africa at Seedstars World, Marcello has worked in 20 African countries where he worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs, corporates, investors and governments across the continent every year to study the ecosystems, facilitate investments and build bridges across the world. He facilitated local and international investments into high growth tech companies in Tanzania, South Africa, Rwanda, Nigeria and many more. Through his work in over 20 countries, he has gained valuable insights into startups, entrepreneurship, ecosystems and market trends across the African continent and across the world.
